How to Flip Up Wipers for 2020/2019 MAZDA3
PUTTING THE 2019 MAZDA3 / 2020 MAZDA3 WIPERS INTO SERVICE POSITION
Ahhh the age old argument: Do you keep your wipers out of the snow by flipping them up, or do you just keep them on the glass? The argument has taken the entire world by storm. Personally, I choose to flip them up. It prevents the blades from sticking to the windshield after a snow storm and keeps them nice and clean. It makes it more efficient to clean snow and ice away from the windshield and also prevents the motor from potential damage if you start the vehicle and have accidentally left the wipers on with them frozen to the glass.
The 2019 and 2020 MAZDA3 has quite an interesting way of flipping up the wipers. The wiper arms are hidden under the hood for style purposes and efficiency as well. It reduces drag caused by wind traveling through the wiper arms and blades, which increases aerodynamics and fuel efficiency in the long run. Air can freely travel over the hood and up the windshield without any obstacles.
In order to gain access to the wipers, you need to put the wipers into “Service Mode.” It is much easier than it sounds and literally takes seconds. The video below details what needs to be done and shows you exactly what to do and what not to do.
